A few tips to speed up your MAC..
The only place I like to see a spinning beachball is at the beach...not on the screen of my MAC..lol.. Here's a few tips to get it up and running again. Make sure you backup your DATA first on to a portable HDD. TIME MACHINE is the easiest way to do this.
The first thing you can do is clean-up your Hard drive. Firstly check your applications and downloads folder. If you see things in there that you don't remember downloading, chances are you can do without them. I like APPZAPPER which completely removes unused apps and all their associated files. Also remove or relocate any pics, vids etc to a PHDD.
You may also want to consider replacing your HDD with an SSD. This is a relatively cheap and easy exercise. The longest part of the process is cloning your old drive across to the new SSD. You may also want consider upgrading to more RAM while you have your MacBook apart. There are heaps of vids on YouTube showing you how to do this if you are unsure.
Hope this helps all you folks with slow running MACS out there..
